How to Enter
1.Free to enter
2. Entries may be made online by filling out the entry form on OPG.com's "Planet Ice 2009 Hockey Pool". To qualify for the subsidiary prizes and the grand prizes the user profile must be filled out in its entirety, including name, email address, phone number, and city. A valid email address must be provided.
3.Entry deadline will be 11:59 pm PST on November 1st, 2009
Who Can Enter
4. The Skills Contest is open to residents of Canada aged 19 years and older on the contest closing date of November 1st, 2009 at 11:59 pm (PST) who are members of a team particpating in a league at Capital News Centre (Kelowna) or Planet Ice (Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Delta).
5. The Skills Contest is not open to employees of OPG.com or its parent, subsidiary, or affiliated entities, their advertising and promotion agencies, or their other representatives or agents, or anyone with whom any of the foregoing is domiciled.
6. Planet Ice 2009 Hockey Pool Prizes
Monthly Prizes
Point leaders for the months of November 2009, December 2009, January 2010, February 2010 and March 2010 for each facility (Maple Ridge, Delta, Coquitlam and Kelowna) will receive a $250 food and beverage gift certificate valid at Boomers / Breakaway Bar & Grill. These certificates have no cash value and will expire as written on the certificate.
Overall Prizes
The particpants who finish the pools in positions 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th position will receive the following credits to their 2010 / 2011 Winter League registration fees at EITHER Planet Ice (Coquitlam, Delta, Maple Ridge) or Capital News Centre (Kelowna):
1st - $2,500 Credit to 2010 / 2011 Winter League Fees
2nd - $2,000 Credit to 2010 / 2011 Winter Fees
3rd - $1,500 Credit to 2010 / 2011 Winter Fees
4th - $1,250 Credit to 2010 / 2011 Winter Fees
5th - $1,000 Credit to 2010 / 2011 Winter Fees
6th - $750 Credit to 2010 / 2011 Winter Fees
7th - $500 Credit to 2010 / 2011 Winter Fees
8th - $250 Credit to2010 / 2011 Winter Fees
9th - $150 Credit to 2010 / 2011 Winter Fees
10th - $100 Credit to2010 / 2011 Winter Fees
Skills Contest Terms and Procedures
7. The Skills Contest will run from November 1st, 2009 at 12AM (Pacific Standard Time) to April 12th, 2009. The winners (prizes outlined in paragraph 6.) will be the participants with the largest point totals based on his/her selected team's cumulative points upon the completion of the 2009/10 regular season based on their selected players of fourteen (14) forwards, six (6) defence and two (2) goalies. Points will be awarded for: One (1) point for each player or goalie selected that scores a goal One (1) point for each player or goalie selected that gets an assist Two (2) points for each goalie that earns a goalie win One (1) points for each goalie that earns a goalie shut out
8. In the event of a point tie the winner will be determined by the participant who has the subsequent highest total in order of the following categories: a. Goals b. Assists c. Entry time
9. If there is still a tie based on the above criteria then the prize will be divided equally among all participants have the same point total.
10. Each user will be allowed to trade a player for another player (2) two times per month. Trades can only be done for players in the same position. There is no fee for trades. Trades will not take affect until the following day they are made. Once the trade has occurred all your points from your previous player will be added to your new player who will start accumulating points from the day of the trade forward.
11. The winner will be determined 5 days after the prize period closing date at the office's of OPG.com.
12. In order to be declared a winner, the selected entrant must: a. Claim the prize on OPG.com by completely filling out all their contact details on the withdrawal page on the site
13. Should the winning entrant fail to comply with any of the requirements set out in paragraph 4. herein, the grand prize will be automatically forfeited and given to the participant that had the second largest total cumulative points based on his or her team's entry.
14. The chances of winning depend upon the skill used in selecting players but may be affected by the number of eligible entries received. Consent to Personal Information Use and Disclosure
15. By entering the contest, participants consent to OPG.com's collection, use and disclosure of the personal information provided in Skills Contest entries for the administration of the Skills Contest and in aggregated, non-personal form in order to create reports regarding Skills Contest entrant demographics and consumer habits, which reports OPG.com may disclose to others without seeking consent.
16. Participants who indicate on their entry form that they wish to receive OPG.com's e-newsletter(s) further consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information (including their email address) by OPG.com for the purpose of providing the e-newsletter(s). Signing-up for the e-newsletter(s) will not affect the odds of winning. Disclaimer and Liability Exclusion
17. OPG.com's parents, subsidiaries and affiliates and each of these entities' directors, employees or trustees will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for, or liable to any Skills Contest entrant or any other person for:
a. any erroneous, lost, damaged, late, incomplete, misdirected, deleted, defective, or altered Skills Contest entries, regardless of the cause;
b. any failure for any reason whatsoever of the selected entrant to receive a prize notification email;
c. any changes in email addresses or email address assignments after Skills Contest entry forms are submitted;
d. any computer, online, telephone, or technical malfunctions or errors that may occur, regardless of the cause; or e. any damage, injury (including death) or loss, including any loss of use, loss of production, loss of profits (anticipated or otherwise), loss of markets, economic loss, special, indirect or consequential loss or damage or punitive damages, whether in contract, tort or under any other theory of law or equity, arising from, connected with, or relating to the Skills Contest or the submission of entries to the Skills Contest.
